Homecoming is coming up soon, and I needed some help for mine. I am a high-school photographer, and my homecoming is soon. I was asking for help for our homecoming photos. Keep in mind that my parents will be taking the photos, so these techniques should be quite fool-proof. I have a Canon XSI, with a 50mm 1.8f prime, a 50-250mm zoom, and the 18-55 kit lens. We are going in a group of 6 people, so in addition to couple photos, there will be group portrait shots. First of all, where are some good spots for taking photos. Do "urban" homecoming shots turn out good? What are some other spots besides the normal evergreen tree background? Second, which lens would probably work best. I would assume the 50mm 1.8f lens, but let me know if you had any other ideas. And finally, photos from homecoming (or prom) would be appreciated, for some inspiration for shots. It's hard to find "good" shots taken with a "good" camera, not an off-focus shot from a point and shoot camera. Help is GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks! Steve |

Hi,
I found it was better to use my kit lens when you have other parents also trying to get a pic of thier child and it gives you a little zoom and a little room to move around. Teresa |
