Default When to shoot?

I have a shoot coming up (outdoor and indoor) where I need to photograph 16 girls for a program. I'll probably shoot 5 to 7 images each to make sure I get at least one good shot. Problem is we are estimating up to 5 hours to shoot it all since their are other things going on the same day as well. The location is ours until 5pm, so here is my question.

Do I start early morning and go into harsher light by noon time or start around noon and work until the lighting gets better approaching 5pm?

My thoughts: Start early, since their are tree's we can go into the shade or use a scrim and reflector to get additional light if needed. Plus starting ealry will allow for more time in case additional shots are needed.

I think I answered my own question but I'd still like some input to ease my mind.

Start early so you can do the outdoor locations first, then move indoors when you start to loose the good light..

my 2 cents...
