Default A few questions about backdrops and music photography

hey i was just wondering what could be used as backdrops white/black sheets against a wall or something ? and how do you go about lighting a subject without the flash on your camera casting a shadow behind them ? and i would also like to get into music photography taking pictures of live bands what flash, lens, filter or settings would you use as it would be quite dark cheers, tom

That's a bunch of different questions. You might want to ask about each one separately (and take a browse for what has already been posted - for example, there are plenty of threads about music photography already full of useful information).
