Problem children?

Does anyone have any tips for getting a child in their terrible two's to smile for you rather than give you a dirty look, or just completely ignore you? I haven't encountered this problem until recently with my best friend's daughter. It seems no matter what I do, she just looks right past me. I've tried bubbles, toys, singing, making faces, games... I'm just stuck! HELP!!

An example (as if one is needed!)

my line is "show me your grumpy face"
say their name, get eye contact and scrunch your face up as an example..
then get them to try look grumpy.

they bust out a laugh straight afterwards every time.

Most kids love bathroom humor, I know this sounds silly but get a small "toot" machine or whoopy cushion to place in your pocket.
Just might break a little giggle out of her!

actually i do like the way she is looking.
when i let them play and forget about me and the camera i get the best results!
