Default Help! Large group ohoto shoot - need suggestions

Our Vacation Bible School ends on Friday of this week. We always get a group shot with everyone on the stage with all the VBS props. Well this year our stage is loaded with props and there is no room for people. I would still love for everyone to be on the stage but how can I accomplish this when I have about sixty people to put in such a very small area.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, should I use a flash? My camera is Nikon D40X and I have do have an external flash that I can use.

Thanks

Here's what I would do... move the trees to block the ugly background to the right behind the dock, have kids stand/sit (some each) on dock. Put the preschoolers or Kindergartners in the boat. Put the croc down to the left in the front to the left of the stage and the boat. Have olders sit on the edge/squat behind sitters/stand behind squatters on the stage. Dunno if it hold 60 or not. Also as a VBS director myself, sometimes you gotta forgo long time tradition and do something else- like take them outside by the publicity banner.

Blessings!

yea....you'd have to use a flash, other wise some rolls of people will be out of focus.
