Default how to get rid of "bulldog" look

I took some pictures of my friend and her family. Mainly the kids, but I got a couple of family shots also. I use GIMP, not photoshop, and I am not sure how to help, fix, remove the jowls. ( I know this sounds cruel) I want to give them the best pictures I can, just not sure how to minimize it. I have a few more close up's of just her. Here's a thumb nail of the family shot I would like to give them.

From Photography class

Thanks for all your help.

That will be the clone tool then...

I'd be careful about altering the picture too much - perhaps a bit of judicious, selective lightening to reduce shadows etc, but not repainting the whole chin. The dangers are that the picture either ends up looking obviously false or very realistic but just not like the original subjects. You wouldn't dream of suggesting that you get a model to stand in for one or more of the participants in order to get a better result, so be wary of doing that digitally.

I don't use GIMP but in Photoshop I would use the Liquify tool to shrink them. I'm sure GIMP has some equivalent to it. That would give you another option to try.

You aren't a plastic surgeon-you can't alter basic physical features, but you can remove blemishes etc-I don't see much wrong with the image, apart from being under exposed and lacking in brightness> regards, Ken
