Default ghost effect

alright.
so i have this idea for a photo.

its with my ex girlfriend and all of that.
and i no that when i leave for war and everything,
she gets really sad. but i have this idea of a photo, and she's gonna help
me out with it and everything. which i'm glad that she is willing to help.

well anyways. the photos i wanna do is, have her all sad and holding my,
acu top. as if i past away during war. then gonna take the exact same photo. but im gonna be next to her in it, and look like im a ghost.

well i have some ideas for the photos. like the one i just explained.

but i was wondering if, anyone else had any ideas for some shots that will get my point across. basically i want the sad look. the love you forever though of mind.
i no the whole ghost photo idea will get my point across fantastically.

cause it will show that im there for her even in death you no.

but like i said. i wanna know if anyone has any ideas on some poses or anything to that effect to help me out?

any idea will be greatly appreciated.

thank you guys lots,
vet 2088

p.s i no the whole soldier dying in iraq thing isnt the best idea for a photo shoot and all.
but i really wanna do it with her. just cause of the history we have together, and the fact that she still does care for me alot. especially when i leave.

Leave your camera on a tripod. Take one picture with her, then a second with you (I may recommend a longer shutter speed to increase the "ghost" effect). Open her picture in your pp program, then open your picture as a layer. Mask out any unwanted portions of your layer and reduce the opacity. That should do it.

Sounds like a nice concept photo. Good luck to ya and keep your head down. Also stay away from the officers. They are the first targeted

well i have already been over to iraq lol.
but thanks for the advice on that jim.

and photobuffs. i never thought of it that way. that is a great way to look at the photos. i just hope when i actually take the photos, that it comes out with that type of feel to it.
and naeno, how u explained how to do the photos, thats what i was gonna do exactly.
i have the tripod and that should be some great help with it. just hope she doesnt move at all lol.

and with the whole shutter speed, i havnt figured out how to do that with my nikon d60 yet.
been experimenting with it. just havnt figured it out yet. i no i can go with no flash and that will help it stay open longer. but i dont really no how to do it, in the shutter priority setting on my camera yet.

but the whole shutter speed was a great idea. i hope i can figure it out by 2morow lol.

but thank you all for the advice and word of mind. i appreciate it a lot.

sincerly,

The shutter speed for her picture doesn't need to be shortened, only lengthen the shutter speed for your picture. Good luck! Make sure to let us see it when you're done!
