Post Help: Alumni picture/whole class picture

Hi everyone,

Is there any tips/guide you can share to me about taking photos of a whole class(students w/ teacher)? I only have a one sb800 and a D90. If I shoot indoors, is it fine? If not, I'm thinking shooting outdoor, and making the school facade as their background, but im afraid of the shadows that might come. I want their faces well lit.

Any help is great and appreciated.

Thank you!

How big is the whole class? I don't think just one SB-800 is going to cut it. I think your best bet is to shoot in the early morning when the sun is just coming up. Will they all fit on a set of bleachers?

The class is composed of some 12- 16 students and teacher in every class.
I already shot them at their auditorium, with sb800 and a sb600 left and right, on my back was the window with the morning sun , and shot them using a 10-20mm wide. It turns out quite good.

Thank you for your tips!

Cheers,
j
