Default First Maternity Shoot

I generally only take senior pictures, and recently one of my seniors referred me to her older sister for maternity pictures. I've gotta admit I'm pretty nervous because this isn't anything I've ever done before. I'm so used to making mainly the only focus of the picture be the face... but obviously the belly should be a big part of these pictures!

The client wants me to take the pictures in a field near her house a little before sunset- so I know the lighting and setting should be great, but I'm a little lost when it comes to posing and outfit choices for this kind of thing! Any help?

Google maternity portraits and look at all the images. You'll get ideas!

I've been doing that and it's helpful. Do you know of any one photographer who has some great maternity photos? I really like seeing one person's body of work.

I recently had my first maternity shoot. I was very nervous! My pictures are far from perfect, but for such a simple setup that I had, and for my first try, I think they turned out to be quite nice. Here's the link.

It was very inspiring for me to see what kind of pictures people take on their first maternity shoot. I hope this helps you a bit.

Good luck!
Steffie

Thanks- I actually took em a couple days ago and put em on my flickr. It's always helpful to see someone else's work though.
