Default Last Minute Tips for Late Afternoon/Evening Shoots?

I'm going out to shoot my friend this afternoon, and I'm not quite sure what to do. I've done some portrait work before, but most of it has been in the morning, noontime, or at night. Is there anything I should do/bring/be aware of?

it's going to be clear and sunny, from what I can tell, by the way.

If you have a soft flash, use that. If you don't, use your camera's built-in flash to compensate for the shadows. Lightly tape a small bit of white tissue in front of the flash to soften it a bit, though. It works really well for a cheap, makeshift diffuser.

Don't stand too far away or the flash won't light up the face enough. I find that when doing "happy" portraits (not noir or anything), a little extra exposure is always good, so you might want to consider that.

Er, I actually don't know too much about this, but good luck!

Don't know much about this, but when I did my sister's photos in the afternoon a reflector was very helpful to have around.
Good luck!
