I am a beginner in portrait photography.. Just wondering the information about different levels. Can anyone please tell me the description of high end, middle of the road, & low end portrait photography.

Or are you referring more to how it was previously seen to be "a higher venture" to paint history paintings on a grand scale over, say, still life?
