Kentucky Derby party

First, if you've never been to the Kentucky Derby, make sure you go at least once in your life. There's everything from men in suits and women with big hats to naked chicks mud wrestling in the infield (in a good year)... I guess what I'm saying is that there's something for everyone

My question is... at the party I'll be attending tomorrow we'll likely be indoors for a good part of the day because it's supposed to rain some. Would I be better off with a 50mm f/1.8 and be forced to "use my feet to zoom" or with a flash and a 18-105 f/3.5-5.6? Or neither? Working with my D90.

I heard that the rain was goingto hold off until later in the day. Unless Belski has changed his mind again.

I would go 50 1.8 just because of the low light but i would bring the other along. You've got a d90 too. I believe you could bump the iso quite a bit and get decent shots, from what I've read about iso performance of the d90. I find myself wishing I had a f/-(negative)1.8 even with the 35.
