Question Mother and Teenage Daughter...Ideas???

I'm shooting a portfolio building session soon for a teenage girl that's part of the youth group I volunteer with, and she wants to have shots taken with her mom. Any ideas since it's not going to be those cute cuddly mother-daughter shots you might see with a little girl? I was thinking of some on a bench or stairs. Any posing ideas for standing portraits? Anyone have any sample shots from a shoot they've done similar to this?

Thanks!

If you want something really different, have them lie down, the opposite from each other but with heads kind of tucked on each others shoulders and holding hands. Photograph them from up above.
Or find out what they like to do and do a session with them doing whatever it is.
Have them hold hands and twirl around in a circle like when the daughter was young.
Just tons of fun things you can do

I did something similar and had a hard time too. Here is a link to my families set, if you look through there there are I think 4 or 5 pictures of a mother with her daughter who is like 19 or 20. It's the only ones with just two women. Hope it gives you a few ideas as I struggled with it too. Good luck... Oh and one pose I did that's not on there is back to back with their arms crossed and them both looking at me.

Question ?

I appreciate your critique. However, this thread is about poses, so that was my main question. What do you think about the poses? I don't mind if you throw in some other thoughts as well, but to not say anything about the results of my posing efforts doesn't help me with my original question.
In response to your critique, some of the sharpness issue is with uploading the images...I can see a marked difference in the colors and the overall sharpness of the photos between the file and the uploaded photo. As far as the noise, I'll definitely go in and remove some noise in lightroom. Do you think all the photos are noisy?

Thanks,
naomi

Default I like them

I don't know if you had more to look at but I was able to view the one of the dps thread and one of them holding hands on facebook. I really like the one of the daughter leaning on her mum's shoulder. It portrays a Mother and teenage daughter really well. Not child like, but relaxed, warm, yet still intimate. Like my title says I like it. Beautiful background too.

I saw a great portrait of a father and son in the papers today that really struck me, both facing camera and full body shots, standing an arm's length away but with the son's arm on the father's shoulder. It showed them as individuals but also the connection between them.

You could try with one looking at the camera, one at the other person, try one having arms or legs crossed.
