Head shots?

I was just asked by a friend to do his headshots for a acting class he wants to join. How do I pose him? I know some but not many

This might help you out. It's a bit stodgy and the model he used is kind of a stiff, but there are some good tips for masculine poses.

Some good advice on that site Susan but I would definitely avoid the tartan trews!

I take a lot of headshots for young kids...girls are really easy, but boys can be difficult.
Today's headshots can be taken outside. I never use a professional backdrop. Try to have the person use a couple of outfits, and ask the person what image does he want to portray. I always use a stepladder for some of the shots to give a different view. I focus on the eyes and try to find postions that are relaxed. Take about 200..just keep shooting and moving and repositioning...you'll both be nervous at first, but it will get easier with each shot.
