Muslins assistance

Hello- I am in the process of converting a portion of my home into a small studio and looking into purchasing a couple muslins. The muslins would be used for infant photography and indoor engagement sessions. After researching many muslins Im just not coming across many that are appealing to me. Are there any core muslins that every photographer must have?

I currently have been using 10x10 peices of black and white fleece purchased from my local JoAnn fabrics which has been working wonderfully. Is there any reason why I shouldnt be using the fleece vs a muslin?

Fleece would feel better on naked babies's skin. Muslin is kind of scratchy and might make them uncomfortable.

i'd start out with at least a white one and a black one. you can always make the white grey by adjusting your shutter speed. you can always make it a different color by putting a gel on your flash.

bigger is better.....to an extent. if you're going to do more than babies then get something that will allow the model to stand around 6 ft away from the back so you can get a full body shot without having to worry about cloning in the muslin or floor in front of them. the 6 ft away also makes it easier to blur out the wrinkles.
