I have a great deal with a friend for taking her wedding photos. Barter is the way to go if you both have a skill or talent that can be traded. I'm doing her wedding and she ( a professional massage therapist) is giving me a massages.

I wish I could view the photos you took, but it sounds like you did well. I do have some professional advice. In any profession or hobby in which you want to improve, you need to learn to take criticism. As others have said, criticism in writing can be hard to “read.” You do not get the human emotional response with the words. If a person takes the time to write a critique, most of the time, it is with the best intentions. People don’t want to waste the time to put you down in writing, on the other hand, the more a person is interested in helping you improve, the more input and detail they will give you. Some of the harshest criticism I have received was asked for and also where I learned the most. Don’t be so quick to turn away criticism, even before it has been offered. To turn away criticism, just because of a few unwanted posts, could mean the difference in complete failure in the future or huge advancements. I am no expert in photography, but I do have a lot experience in giving and receiving criticism. In the field I work, the way you accept criticism can mean the difference in life or death. The consequences in photography are nowhere near as severe; therefore the criticism is mild compared to what it could be in life. Again it sounds like you did well, and the criticism you did receive was nothing you expected, have confidence in yourself. Continue to have fun taking photos.
