Yes, I'm loving that third photo a lot! Please do tell about how you did the backdrop, it looks so professional.

I agree I like the third one the best, but they are all really good. Also really like the background in the third one. Great job!

Your pictures are very good, so I tried to copy them last night (minus the natural light - the sun just doesn't shine in Western Washington, and I used my regular kit lens and not my 50-200mm because my room was so small, I couldn't get the required 4 feet away to get a good focus). I don't have photoshop, so I just changed it to black and white in Picasa. I think I like the color version better.

My questions for you are: did you lay her on a flat surface and stand over her or is someone holding her in the first and third shots?

Also, did you shoot in monochrome, or change it to b&w in post-production?

Here's my b&w:

Here's the color version, which I like better:

One thing I don't like about the black background is that you can't see all her hair. I upped the shadows control in Picasa to make the background blacker and that really makes her hair disappear.

For the third one, you could also use wrapping paper - there is a ton in that kind of design. Check out Target. The only issue is you'd have to lay the baby on a flat surface on top of the paper so it wouldn't wrinkle.
