Default using the sun

do you generally turn your subject into the sun or away from the sun ? i put them slightly toward the sun and am wondering if i should have put them facing the sun more or if i should have put the sun behind them... but not get the sun in the photo. just seems a bit to much shadow on the faces.

I wish I had a wide angle lens! <-----but thats another story lol

I think it really depends on what you are going for. The composition of this photo is great, I really love the long shadow coming off your subjects. The faces are a little shadowed, but I don't think its really an issue since they are a little further away anyway. If it was shot closer then maybe I would suggest a directional change, but really its fine. One thing you could think about doing is exposing the shot twice for the face and then for the scene and maybe putting them together in photoshop, but like I said it really doesn't seem to be an issue in this shot.

Great Job!

I think you positioned them nicely. A reflector might have helped or even a little fill light. Great shot!
