Default Photographing A Wedding Today....

Wish me luck? lol Oh, and any last minute tips? I think I've got most of it all (I spose I never really have it all lol). I have the list of poses from the post written by kencaleno (Thanks Ken, that was a HUGE help!). The wedding is going to be in a small room (the place snugly fits about 48 chairs) and the Pastor has given me the green light to do what I have to to get the shot for the bride and groom, and they want -all- the shots, the Pastor even said he'd slow down the signing of the registry at the end for me to get good shots - he's one of those helpful, co-operative Pastors We then have the formal shots after and it sounds like I'll have about an hour and a half for those shots and then the reception is at a restraunt of sorts (the only place I haven't been able to scope out). I gotta go pick up more batteries for my flash but I'll do that after the sitter gets here - I went and got a spare batterie yesterday for my camera, now I just wish I had the money for a grip, but that'll be next time.... I suspect with the size of the room I can most likely get away with using my 50mm for the majority of it (and I hope so because my kit lens does horribly indoors, even with flash - maybe that's a user error but the 50 is just plain out better). I've got about 8 gigs worth of memory chips all formatted and ready to go and the only thing I'm lacking is business cards (ran out and waiting for my order to come in).

I admit, this is kind of a mental check list for me.... Anything I'm missing?

Wink If worse comes to worse, there's always photoshop

Just kidding with the subject line (well sorta...)

Best of luck today!! I hope you can share some of your shots when it's all said and done. I know you must be excited and nervous and anxious and on cloud nine all at the same time.

Just remember to:
Breathe!
Check your settings each time you change positions
Get the details during any "down time"
Have fun with it!

I know you'll do great!

Just a tip-use rechargeable batteries in your flash-they last longer and recycle flash quicker-All the best,Regards, Ken

Get more memory cards!!! Unless you plan on shooting the wedding using jpeg small or medium...... Personally I have 36 gigs worth of cards and I dont think that is enough. but I shoot raw.... In a wedding you will be shooting several thousand shots and you dont want to be deleting shots during the wedding because if you are deleting shots you are not shooting and you might miss something. Also deleting images on the fly can cause your card to error which I should not have to tell you is a bad thing. So like I said get more memory.
