Default RIP Canon 5D with Shay

First time working with Shay. The first photo of the shoot and the last Went to take the 2nd picture and camera shut off and wont turn back on. Tried 4 different batteries and nothing.

Any way I just got my lights setup to a basic setup. AB800 with 40 degree grid just slightly camera right. Then I had a AB800 with some other grid and blue gel just behind Shay. I didn't even realize it was turned on.

I'm quite happy with the photo I got. I got a very dark and epic photo on the first try. The blue light hit her chin and makes it look a tad different but after looking at it for a bit it doesn't bother me to much anymore.

Just wanted to share and see what you guys think. My new 5D should be here tomorrow so I am quite excited to redo the shoot.

Here is the photo. I have only done RAW adjustments and no Photoshop so there is still some things that could be fixed. . I don't post these up to often.

iso 100
1/200 sec shutter
f/4
48mm

dude, that sucks about the camera.

like the mood that you captured here. i normally don't like it when you can't see both eyes but it suits the mood and lighting.

good job.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about your camera man! But once again...you pulled it off, even with one shot! Great job.

Question Optical illusion??

Sorry to hear about your camera, Jason. Total bummer.

I like the photograph of Shay. At first glance, my thoughts are how dark and mysterious it is. Just a hint of her eye, and I really like the way the blue light exposes her jaw line...it kind of matches her eye shadow.

The more I stare at it though...the more distracted I seem to be by those two pole-like objects to the (camera) left of her? It almost looks as if one of them is going straight down through her shoulder, and the other the back of her head...are my eyes playing tricks on me?

Thanks for the comments. Hopefully it wont cost to much to repair the camera. Something similar happened to my XTI and it was about $150 to fix which is not to bad. Suck that i need the camera ASAP.

Its kind of a tricky area to take photos in. Her body is actually hiding in behind a metal support beam. The entire room was filled with them. My dad owns a building down town and the tenants just moved out of the 14th floor. So now I got an entire floor to play in for a bit.

Thanks again for the comments. I am probably going to work some post magic on this one so I will surely post up the after picture when it is complete.

I'd really like just a tad bit more fill, I'm not getting anything at all on the (camera) left side of her face.
