Ive been shooting still life, nature, etc.. and I want to get into shooting some "modeling" shoots. I have a couple of people who are willing but I was wondering is there anything special I need to know? i want to do them outside and preferrably in the evening so I don't have to mess too much with lighting. anything on how to take the shots? Thanks for any help.

Well you should already know how to get a technically good photo otherwise dont shoot with models because generally their attention span will be pretty short if you spend a ton of time fiddling with settings. If you already know how to get a technically good photograph then you need to practice posing the model. Other than that dont have the model look straight into a light source because they will squint and it will show up in the photos. If you have reflectors and an assistant that would be good. If you have some off camera lighting gear that is even better. Good luck with the shoot and be sure to let us know how it goes.
