Need some help with the background

Hi all. I have the most beautiful subject - my 15 months old daughter, but I often take the best photos of her when nothing is prepared - in this case the bed is a mess with pillows all over it, and my little girl just woke up with a ''bad hair day''!
I actually like how she looks with the messy hair, and I find her face very beautiful in this shot. What I really don't like is the background, so I was wondering if I could get some help with this issue here. What can I do to improve this photo?

Perhaps if you bump up the exposure some to brighten the wall and convert it to b&w then she'd pop out from the background a bit more.

How about if you blur the background? and lighten up the whole picture?
