Default Valentines Day Photo Shoot(babies)

I was asked to do a photo shoot for my niece for Valentine's Day (this would be my very first "shoot" and I have no clue where to begin)

I have some questions that I hope some of you can answer for me though:

  • My niece is ten months old and always moves, any ideas on how to keep her still?
  • What should she wear? Props?
  • What about locations? Would something such as a blue wall be suitable for Valentine's Day pictures?

What about a picture with her in a tutu, bare at the top?

if there is any other advice that you would be willing to give out, please post about it!

PS. My style of photography is natural, casual, classic shots with a modern twist

PS.S I also know of another location, a red barn. What about that?

she does not have to stay still, just use a fast shutter speed. She should wear what is comfy so she will be a fussy baby - but prob red, white or pink and white (V-day theme)
I would not use a blue wall, but if that is all you have - you could change the color to white or some V-day color of your choosing. As far as probps, you could puyt fake rose petals on the floor, she will love looking atthem and she won't move very far...

just a few thoughts.

Talking i have good ideas!

I know my neice amie loves anything that makes noise.. so i would say find a cute toy.. maybe shaped like a heart that sings.. that way you can keep playing it.. it will make the baby laugh and stay somewhat in the same place.

Also a cute basket with some light pink blankets is good. because you can place your neice inside it and take some really pretty pictures.

Or if you have a large mirror you could place it near the baby or put the baby on top of it so they play wth there reflection and that can lead to very interseting shots. Like if she trys to touch her reflection.. good capture.

umm... what else?? the rose pedals are a good idea.. but babys tend to put everything in their mouth so you'll have to be careful.

Also if it's okey with the parents you can do some semi-nude baby pictures which is always cute. like wrap a soft blanket over the babies private areas and let her play around and wait for the right moment.

it will take alot of shots and patience to get the perfect shots.

make her smile alot.. and just think cute.. sweet and lovely dovy stuff.
