Red face My First Father/Daughter Dance!!!

I will be doing my first Father/Daughter Dance photos and I need suggestions on posing and background. It is a country-western theme and I will be taking pictures in the library.

I shoot with the Canon 40D and I have a bracket to put my flash on and a 580 ex II speedlight that I don't know how to use beyond the ttl setting.

Any suggestions are appreciated on posing, background, and photo packages!

Thank you.

Try to get some bales of hay and have the couples either sit, lean or lay on them.

Bales of hay would look great if you could get them, although they are a bit big/heavy to move and could be scratchy for people to sit or lean on. Other items you could try to incorporate (or paint onto a backdrop) would be pieces of an old wooden fence or gate, wooden wheel, barrels for sitting/leaning on, cactus, or some lasso-type rope. Cowboy boots and hats could make for cute props. In terms of posing, I would say try to have the little girls stand on something, or maybe have the dad sit down, so that they are closer in height.
