Question The closed eye technique

Now, i'm not that into portrait photography that much (yet) but i have done a few sessions for friends.

One technique for natural looking shots i heard somewhere was to make your subject close their eyes and then you count to three, they open their eyes and you get a natural looking shot.

This does work really well, feel free to try it out, but it's VERY tedious to do it every shot, what other ways are there to get natural looking shots?

It does work very well !!

Especailly with children, they cant really hold a smile thats real for very long it starts looking fake or forced. So Ive tried this technique and it works quite well !
Have a super day !

I get people to look the other way for a few seconds, then I say "And look back at me..." and when they turn back I take the picture. I've found that works particularly well outside if I'm going to for natural candid-looking pictures.

I'm going to have to give that closed-eye technique a little go though..
