Default Bar Girl Gig in a week. Need some pointers!!!

Hello all. New here. SO far I have learned quite a few new things by just roaming the threads.

I am taking pictures of bar girls next week for a promoter. Something to beef up my portfolio. Any ideas any of you may have for me?

I am a semi beginner.

I have a Xti (yea simple, it works though!!) and a 28-135 IS lens.

Should I go rent a better lens? Any recommendations on shutter ,exposure, lighting etc?

APPRECIATE ANY HELP!!!

It's difficult to say without knowing the setup and everything.

But being that it's standing and staged, you can pretty much treat it like a portait session then. Also with staged, you have the luxury of having people stand still for longer to keep your shutter open longer to bring up ambient lighting.

Hope I'm not too late. The only thing I can really add with the info on the table is that most bar owners will want some background which, if it doesn't explicitly identify the bar, at least sets the tone for what the bar is about. So if it's a wine bar or a beer-and-darts kind of place or a honkeytonk or whatever try to work that in. Also, neon really screws up white balancing; post-processing will be your friend if you want or have to include that.

Thank you. I just picked up a 40D. So I have about a week to get a customed to it before the gig. I really appreciate the feedback.
