Took a good month off from photos and decided it would be a good time to start wokring on my glamour portfolio. Was playing around with the new Alien Bee's ring flash with the moon unit. Don't quite have it yet figured out but Im happy. I'm fealing a tad rusty to so a few shoots and I should be back into the mindset.

Great result. I'm curious, how heavy is the diffusing material in that moon unit?

Thanks for the comments. Now that I'm looking at the photo I should of brightened the background a tad. I got lots to go through though so I will defiantly post some more.

Here is a lighting diagram that I quickly put together below. As for the moon units diffusing material its pretty thin. Almost like shopping bag thin but of course better material lol. I'm really excited to use it more and get to learn how to take advantage of it.

The room was very small and very hard to work in. I had limited movement and limited space to put my lights.

You didn't shoot through the ring light?

Jason you have just inspired me to get into portrait photography! I've been leaning on the idea for a few weeks now. Looking at this photos, and the rest on your Flickr page has forced my hand! It seems I have A LOT to learn about portrait photography but I'm willing and ready! Thanks for sharing and obviously GREAT work!!
