Default Superhero photo

My daughter got a fabulous new dress-up cape this summer and I've been trying, off and on, to get an equally good superhero photo of her in it. Here's my best attempt so far:

DSC_7923a

Eh, it's not so great.

I don't have any equipment beyond my camera & lenses. Given that limitation, how would you photographically convey her superhero-ness? I'd love to hear any ideas! Composition, technique, whatever -- throw 'em at me.

Put her on her bike or big wheel and the cape will flow as she is riding - I bet running would work also. Bur be careful. My son's friend kept looking at his cape as he was running and ran right in to a wall - he was ok and that proved his super hero status.

Also, catc her her jumping off of something as well...

I've tried lots of jumping shots, but she makes weird faces when she jumps, LOL. We'll try running, though!

Get the camera down below her knees and shoot up at her. Put the sun behind her and fill-flash.

I agree with this post - possibly use the same stool you used in your photo for her to stand on, get low and shoot upwards using the sky as your background...maybe have her looking off to one direction with both fists on hips?? just an idea....

I disagree! It's really cute, and while it doesn't exactly display true superhero style, it's funny to see a super hero presented as a young child in a field where there's not much to save

I will second this, as I broke my collar bone when I was six after my parents put a streamer on the back of my bike...

I think it'd be cool to have like a raised bed or some other soft surface that she dives on, with you shooting up.

Like...hmm...how can I describe this...

---->

^ ___________

With the arrow being her and the carat being you...This is quite hard to describe in 2D...and ASCII..

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I want to ask my friends to do a superhero shoot now =)
