Need assistance determining if I can make this shot with my current gear.

Hi, I will be taking a 70 person portrait later this week. I need some help determining if my gear will be able to take the picture in the room space available. I have a Canon 50D and a f1.4 50mm. The 50D is crop sensor, so I'm afraid I may not be able to get the group into the shot given the room dimensions. Can anyone help me to figure out the math here?

Let's assume the group will be 4 rows of ~17 people sitting on bleachers. Let's say roughly 45-50ft wide subject. How can I calculate how far back I'd need to be with this gear to get the shot?

Sure there are sites with angle of view etc, and can calculate it. Any chance they can be split up? 70 is a fair few people in one shot....

FOV with a 50mm on a crop body will be about 25*...I'd guess you'll need to be about 100-150ft away.
