Default Glamour shots

Hi, I'm Andrea, I'm pretty new here. I'd like a little advice. I'm going to be participating in a glamour photoshoot. I will both be modeling and taking some pictures. I have never done a glamour shoot before, so I'd love some input concerning backgrounds, posing, outfits, makeup, anything you can help me with. This is NOT a professional shoot, and will not involve compinsation other than digital copies. Again, any help or advice or good links would be VERY much appreciated. Thank you!!

Oh, and we will not be doing any risque shots, we're a pretty modest bunch. Thanks again

Check out: [ZUZANNA AUDETTE] Film & Digital Vintage Pin-Ups | [FRAMED]
Check out: www.sunbounce.com: AWESOME SUNBOUNCERS VIDEOS

The first on is from FramedShow - there are others but there are some good tips to be had and a behind the scenes video of the photo shoot.

The second one is really great. A lot of great photographers also behind the scenes video of the photo shoot.

excellent! I hope they will explain in detail in three levels: theoretical , conceptual and practical ..Otherwise, noobs like me only able to by-hard the techniques without understanding why..and how. Only adopt and not adapt.

I think its a really board topic that makes it hard to try and give you advice.... backgrounds for example - you can be successful using a black background, a white background or something where the room is the background. No one is better than the other, just different.
Same with outfits. For poses you might want to look at websites and see what you like and try and emulate it - that should also help you with backgrounds and outfits.

Take a look at this website by fellow DPS'r Scott Detweiler: Light, Shoot & Edit
I like the "flipcard" view. Click on one of the images you like and Scott tells you how it lit the shot, what processing he did and other details. Hopefully it will give you some ideas. Good luck.
