Default "Lads Mag" Photography

I'm going to be doing some "lads mag" style shots this week, for the first time. They're not for a magazine, but it's that style.

Any tips? Particularly lighting, things to watch out for/avoid. Getting the most flattering angles/poses etc

A bit like this: FHM Image search

Why not pick a few that you like and try to recreate them? Copy the pose, reverse engineer the light. You can show the model how you want her to pose with the images you found.

I do believe one needs TWO hands to adjust lighting and hold reflectors.

I've GOT two hands but if you want to hold the lights while I "adjust" the girls for Biomech, I don't mind.

Mods. May I put a follow up thread in general about what I learnt on the shoot and a couple examples? Or would you rather it somewhere else?

Can't see why not, would be good for members to see what you went through and get your views on what you did well/poorly and what you'd do differently/better next time.

Plus General allows you 4 images which is more than most. You might also want to consider putting in SYS-People as you can keep adding images (beyond the first 4 images) every time two people post replies (though I'm sure no one would take exception to you posting more in follow-up posts in the General thread as long as it stays on theme and helps the readers.

Looking forward to seeing your post and what all happened.

Just remember that some viewers might not be huge fans of "lads mag" type of photos.. (not THIS man!)
