Default Motion blur

I have been taking pics at my daughter's jiu jitsu class just for fun and I'm trying to get a nice motion blur. I keep getting more of a ghosting and I don't like it lol.
Is it the flash that's making that happen? Can I avoid it and get a proper motion blur somehow?

Here's an example, with exif
Shutter 1/60
ISO 400
f5.0
flash on, bounced off wall

Yes, it's the flash that's making that happen. If you turn the flash off, all the motion blur will register equally (vs. the flash illumination making up the lion's share of the exposure), but given the low light, you might get too much motion blur.

You might also want to consider putting the flash into rear-curtain sync, and balancing the ambient/flash more towards the ambient (i.e., use a slower shutter speed, or increase the iso/aperture and adjust the flash power down by the same amount).
