Default How to self portrait

What is an easy way to take a pictures of yourself. I have a tripod and an ab800. What i have trouble with is how to focus when i leave the camera on the timer. I dont have a shutter release or any other help. How do y'all do it?

Easiest suggestion:
Put something where you would sit / position yourself for the SP and focus on that. Then switch to manual focus, turn on the timer and run to where the item is and position yourself there.

I also found this article to be useful and have recommended it several times: http://photodoto.com/im-ready-for-my...elf-portraits/

The easiest way if you don't have someone or something to stand in for you is to take the camera off the tripod, stand or sit where you will be sitting, focus on the tripod head, set it to manual focus, and return camera to tripod. Set the timer and go to your posing position and wait for the snap. You still may have to move in or out a bit depending on how close to the camera you are. The depth of field can get pretty shallow at close range, so it will still be some trial and error. Good luck, and post some results!
