Default Fake & Bake Bridesmaids

Ok so on a number of occasions I've shown up and some of the bridesmaides have decided to go tanning...a LOT. There is no denying their skin is a deep obviously fake shade of orange. I don't want to adjust my white balance just for one person because it throws it off for the rest of the scene.

I know that in all honesty its mostly their fault & I can only correct it so much, but I just hate seing a bunch of beautiful ladies and then one sticking out like a soar thumb because they are the color of a neon sign.

How do you deal with the battle of the fake and bakers?

It's their special day, so they do certain things to look the way they want. Unless the bride says she overdid it and wants you to correct as best you can for her overzealousness, correct for what is right for the shot.

Agreed. shoot for the proper white balance...then if they want you to fix the orange you can charge them for custom post work....and orange removal is very spendy.
Seriously, by trying to correct for the skin you'll probably end up with color issues on the shoes or dresses. Before doing alot of post work let them pick out the images and they can tell you if they want it the orange retouched.

It's not that painful to fix... it's really only as time consuming as there are images to fix.

Easiest way would just to use a layer mask and a hue adjustment on the oompah loompah:

-Open up a saturation adjustment layer
-Next to the channel drop down there's a little slider icon... select this.
-take your cursor over the image, it will be a dropper icon
-Hold it over the skin, hold Ctrl, click and move to adjust the hue
-Hold it over the skin, click and move to adjust saturation

by masking i shouldn't affect other reds in the shot

While I dont have to deal with orange skin much, especially at receptions, some folks get blushed red skin, or occasionally in low light, a levels adjustment will screw up the skin tones towards red...this is an easy fix.

...again, only as easy as how many you have to do.

you could of course go to black and white.

I think zona5101 was inferring through a hint of sarcasm that although its not that difficult to do, its extra PP that wasn't quoted for originally so there are "opportunities" to providing additional services
