Default Concept Shoots

I'm looking to do some concept shoots with models. But where does everyone get their concept ideas? Where can I get some inspiration? I'm drawing nothing but blanks...

I usually start looking for models after ive got the concepts, but there have been instances where the ideas come to me from the models.

And where do you get the ideas from?

if you're shooting in a studio, bring a prop such as a piece of furniture foor the model to do poses on. also, browse flickr and such for some inspiration. if you're shooting on location, scout out the location and see whats around for the model to do something interesting. i personally find it handy to make sketches of the shot.

I buy tons of magazines from different genres. I like Vogue (especially the UK and French versions), Bound by Ink, a variety of Wedding style mags, National Geographic, Time, Fast Company, etc. I go through and cut out any images I really like, and then put them in a binder.

I also join Groups on Flickr for anything I'm interested in. Every few days I'll go through and look at a few thousand images at a time. When I find something really compelling or interesting, I take a screen cap and catalog it in a program called Little Snapper. That serves as my digital binder for ideas.
