White paper roll background ?
Or mottled cloth background: Interfit Italian 2.9x3m Background Cloth - Sorrento Blue (INT580S) - Warehouse Express ?

2/3's shots, head shots, full length or all 3?

50mm hand held or telephoto on tripod?
(2x mains fed studio lights, 1 soft box, 1 umbrella)

2/3's shots, head shots, full length or all 3? Ask your customers. We normally shoot a 2/3 and full view. Mostly full view as those ladies wanna show off their dresses.

50mm hand held or telephoto on tripod? 28-70 on a tripod.

(2x mains fed studio lights, 1 soft box, 1 umbrella)
Softbox camera right, bounce umbrella camera left.

We use the alien bee's, main light 3/4 power and fill at about 1/4th or 1/8th.
