Default Pregnancy photoshoot

Hi Guys,

It's been almost 5years since i began my photography journey. Since then (uptill now) I use a Fujifilm Finepix S9600.
Mostly I take pictures of animals, flowers, architecture, landscaping or miscellaneous stuff.
I've done 2 weddings, but not as the main photographer, just because i'm the nephew, I participated in taking photographs.

The last couple of weeks more and more people are asking me to to a photo shoot for them. But lack of confidence made decide that I'm no up for the job.

Now I'm getting a bit more confident and made my first appointment for doing a photo shoot for a relative. It's gonna be pregnancy photographs.

I read a lot on the internet about types of clothes the model should wear, no shoes, etc. And i also read about gear needed and stuff like that..
BUT... I only have my camera and tripod (not needed for this i guess).

The photo shoot will be both indoor and outdoor.
I am planning to use one or more white boards as reflectors. That's he only 'gear' i was planning on.

Do you guys think I will be able to get good results?
I am really curious about the outcome

please feel free to give any kind of advice.. I'm in the learning process

Really depends on what you're looking to get in terms of a look. Take your time to look around at some other pregnancy photos, save ones you like or ones you think your model might. SHow them to her and see what she says.

I can't say too much about the technical side of taking the photos, but with expecting my 4th child I can somewhat say what types of pregnant pics I like of myself. First off stripes accentuate the tummy and can hide extra bumps. Side on pics shows the Mum tum off best. Poses from the front that can be cute is having either the Mum or the Dad make a heart around the Mum's belly button out of their hands (palms on tummy, with thumbs touching and index fingers touching). I personally hate bare belly pics because of some loose skin under my Mum tum, but some like these, just realize you may have lots of photo editing to get rid of the stretch marks that most women get.

Sounds like a good idea.. I did look at some pictures of course, but didn't have in mind to show them to her. But I think that will work out better, cause she then can 'copy' the poses she likes.

The hands forming the heart on the tummy are so overdone. Try to come up with something creative of your own and that will be something unique to her shots! Also, don't just have her push her shirt up and expose her tummy. That's not a maternity portrait.
