Hello everyone, I just signed up to this website so I can get some help on my photography, I feel that there is always room to grow and what better then asking other photographers. I just created a photography blog today because I want to get more serious with my photography, I wanted your opinion on some of my post on my blog: JT Photography
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You! |

I really like some of the photos and your style but I think more descriptions about the photos and how you took them is always good on a blog, remember a blog is mostly about the writing like an online journal if you just want to post photos up for everyone to see there are better places to do it like Flickr.
Check out my blog at: Tim Naylor's Photography Regards.

Welcome both to DPS and photography in general.
The main comments I would say about your imagery is that for the most part they seem a bit flat in terms of contrast and 'umph'... learn about boosting it or using your light a bit more effectively. In post-processing, if you're using LightRoom, the Clarity setting helps a lot. If you're using someth8ing like photoshop, look into LCE (local contrast enhancement) on The Luminous Landscape and try that. Also, i saw quite a few images that had focus issues. That always stands out to me, especially when the eyes in portraits aren't sharp. Otherwise, you're well on your way, have fun with it. Also, check out strobist.com if you don't know it already.
