How to shoot this kind of fashion photo?

I REALLY REALLY hope to know how they actually shoot/post process this kind of picture?

can anyone share a little guide?how they set up the lighting, any specific post-process steps?

in the picture above, their facial, hair~~are so real and sharp...

+1 on the background. The girl has been lit fairly well (although I don't care for the dark shadow under her right eye, the light is not flat) and exposed properly, and a high-contrast BW conversion was done. An easy way to do this type of conversion is to do a gradient map in Photoshop, then a curves adjustment. Looks like some sharpening has been applied as well.

Just a side note, if the lighting and exposure are off in the original, the conversion won't look good.

She doesn't look like a refugee at all. I think it's a nice image. I don't think the photographer was going for sexy or flattering. This is actually a pretty common style I've seen in magazines and clothing stores. That jacket she's wearing certainly looks to be designer clothing.

I don't think this image damages the human female. What damages the human female more is insisting that every picture of a female be sexy and appealing.
