I am new to studio photography but I purchased a studio strobe lighting set. I have looked all over the web and I cannot find anything on how to use the power settings on the strobes. I tried doing a family shoot today (my own) and everything looked washed out even on the lowest power settings. I was using white umbrellas and then switched to soft boxes and it seemed to help but I still struggled. I used a light meter and set it as advised but it was still washed out. If anyone can give me some advise or where to find more information on this topic I would greatly appreicate it!
