Default remembrance March !

Hi Everyone,

I'm only 3 months into my photography course but my friend who is in the sea cadets has asked to photograph their march through surbiton tomorrow so they can have some nice photos for their barracks.

I am terrified of letting him down do you guys have any tips that could help me ?
This is what i'm thinking so far :

Use my wide angle lens when they march past me to get as many of them in. also use an aperture of around f/22 to get as many of them in focus ?

I think it's going to be an overcast day so where should i meter from ? i thought maybe concrete ground ?

Also thought of exposure bracketing to be on the safe side !!

also going to have my 50mm lens for the portrait shots .

Any advice would be really appreciated !!!!

Thanks
Jennifer
