Hi all!!!
I am new to DPS, but not so new to photography. I am a graduate student studying to work in higher ed, but I have a strong passion for photography. I pretty much learned everything from my dad and my own research. I hope to learn a lot from you all and contribute to the discussions. To kick off my membership, I would like feedback if possible on my most recent model shoot. I just recently got into model photography, and I feel that I have a LOT to learn because I don't feel confident that what I'm doing is good material. Any and all feedback/criticism is greatly appreciated. So with no further adieu, here is a Flickr set with my friend Christina. Thanks again!!! ![]() Modeling with Christina - a set on Flickr -JayBay |

Hello Jay!
Welcome to DPS. Regarding your shots. . . um, how to put this. I don’t know what you were aiming for with this beautiful girl, but speaking as a woman, IMHO the shots look as if she’s advertising for porn. Her bra is lumpy, her clothes too tight and small. In general, she just looks cheap in the photos. Lots of background distractions and not so good lighting. I very much like the head shots. Well, I disagree with the "cheap/porn" comments. The "idea" seems to be consistent with what is seen in many "tuner" mags these days. Some shots are well done, many shots miss on "the details". There ARE shots with lumpy bra, missed lighting, etc which is definitely a detraction.
It's "the details" which make the difference between ok/good/great. As a set I'd call it "average". If you were to cull it to just the best shots (maybe 10 out of the set); I'd say it's "good". There's a couple I'd say are very good...
