Default Company group photos tomorrow

Hi all,

I am photographing groups in different departments within my company tomorrow for a presentation to a retiring employee. It is indoors with very little natural lighting. I'll be using a Nikon D5000 and have 18-55 and 55-200 kit lenses and a 35mm f1.8 available with no external flash. Any pointers would be very much appreciated.

My gut says take the 35 f/1.8, open it up, set a custom white balance and hope for the best.

If you've got time today, you might want to experiment with some popup flash diffusers.

You could also search for plans to make a DIY lightscoop if you'll be shooting in a room where you can bounce the popup flash light off the wall behind you and/or the ceiling.

Boomer,

Thanks for the advice and the links. That flash diffuser seems to be helping a great deal I appreciate the input.
