So my mother asked me to take some photos at my sister baby shower. Do you have any general tips on how to get the best shot on this event for example shots of Tables with the people, People standing, Etc, this will be in a hall with low light? Right now I got a Nikon D80 with a 50mm 1.1.4D Lens & a 18-105 VR Lens, would these be a good enough for this kind of Event? Could you recommend an Ideal lens I would need for this type of Event.
**** can someone tell me what will be the best ISO setting and the Aperture Etc**** Thank You!!!! |

You said in a hall with low light so I would suggest the 50mm f1.4D. It's a really good lens for low light conditions. Your 18-105 is f3.5-5.6. You'll get much more light into the camera with the f1.4 aperture so there will be fewer under-exposed images. If you decide to go with the 18-105 you will most likely need a flash and the pop-up flash may be too short if there will be a large group attending.
I'm not very familiar with your D80 but watch the light meter if it has one and try to set your aperture so that the meter centers. For my preferences in darker situations I would try to get the meter to 2 hash marks left of the zero (toward +). Just my suggestions. Do what you are comfortable with.

Seriously? The third post on the pretty much the same question... not cool.
Can you refer to to my previous two answers to this exact same question? HERE and HERE Maybe you should delete two of the three posts to keep the forum uncluttered with the same posts? |
