This shot is inspired by Bart Nagel's a/symmetry project. I took a self portrait and made a square crop. The original is flanked by versions of me that show symmetrical versions based on the left and right sides of my face.

I think my left side is the most dashing; you can definitely see differences, although it is subtle.

How about taking a look at Nagel's gallery and then trying the idea on yourself (or a willing volunteer). Post the result back here for us to look at.
