Default A Model from MM

I sent out a few message to some local models on MM to see if any of them would be interesting in a time for print/cd shoot. A girl wrote me back this morning and said that she would love to. She lives maybe 15 miles from my house.
But she asked when and where? Doy! Then when is not the problem. Now I have to come up with a where. She is young, blond, short and small. All of her photos in her profile are kind of edgy looking. I don't know if it will work to have her sprawled out in the park like you would a couple or a family.
Now I am panicking a little bit. Whose idea was it for me to contact a model on there anyways? One of you all suggested it.
Okay how about this. Is a center town walking mall, like a breezeway type thing, no cars allowed, just shops and people, would that seem like a nice place? Lots of brick, concrete, a limited amount of greenery. 3-4 story buildings. Funky wrot iron chairs and benches. Ugh.....HELP! I haven't wrote her back yet. It's all fun and games when you are taking photos of your kids, but when other people are involved, the nerves. Oh my....the nerves.

Just because all of her portfolio shots are edgy, doesn't mean you need to duplicate the theme...
If "edgy" isn't your style, you'll probably have a hard time achieving the results. Plus, she could probably use something different for her portfolio..

I agree. One of the reasons models need to shoot with different photographers is to show their own versatility. A quality portfolio should have multiple looks.

You need to do something she has not done before.

Alright! Good! Great! I feel better, I can calm down now and just go with my style, which I have yet to clearly define. But if I had to call it out right now, I would say it is more classic and whimsical than edgy.

Hi Nicole. My advise would be to talk to the model...ask her what SHE would like to get from the shoot. Styles and levels, the kind of locations she'd like to use. The chances are this will give you a much better idea as to what/where to suggest for the tfcd. Works for me! Cheers, Mark
