Default Problems with glasses

I am having a problem with some pictures that I have been taking that the doctors have glasses on and the lenses of their glasses are warping their face really strange and I can't fix it.

How do you get it where the glasses won't warp their face and if it does how do you fix it in CS4?

You can see it here in the picture with his right eye.

I can't remember where I saw this fix, or I would link you up. Basically, the article I read said to take a photo with the glasses on, just like you have. Then without moving your subject at all, tell them not to move a muscle, remove their glasses and take another photo. Then merge the photos in photoshop. Maybe using a layers mask.

There are actually two issues here. One is the glare caused by the flash reflecting off the glasses and the other is the distortion caused by the glasses themselves.

Both are very common problems, with some simple and not-so-simple solutions.

Here is a complex one that requires some major post procesing to remove the distortion caused by the glasses: Fix optical distortion from prescription eyewear

Here is a simpler solution to remove the glare: Lighting for glasses

Google for "Photographing people with glasses" and you will get a ton of resources from where you can learn a lot.

I found a really simple and effective tutorial to fix glasses distortion on Jeff Revell's site, here, a while back.

Basically you select the inside of the glasses, copy, then Paste Into the selection. You then use free transform on the pasted area to remove the distortion. This also has the additional effect of making the eyes the correct size. Takes 2 minutes!

Thank you for those links. I have taken over 600 shots and 80% of them have the same problem and I didn't notice it until I was home and editing them. I have one more day left of this shoot and I was afraid I might have to retake the ones wearing glasses.

wanna know the secret that doesn't create more work for you ... tell your clients if they have glasses they need to stop by their eye doctor before their session and either have the lenses removed or if they can't drive without them get a loaner pair with the lenses removed. I've never had a client say that their eye doctor charged for this service .. it's quick .. easy .. and requires no additional work on your part. Always keep in mind that there's no need in learning how to fix a photo later when you can shoot it right in the first place.

That's the easiest method, and it's what I did for my "profile pic".
