This may be the wrong place to ask this, but where is everyone finding space to set up a studio? Do you have one in your home, do you own one, rent one? I would really like to start practicing some studio portraiture, but I can't find any room to set something up. (I live in a crowded 2 bedroom apartment with my husband and 2 kids :S) I know someone else must have run into this problem and solved it. I'm not the only one with space issues. What did you do in the beginning?

Living with one other person in a 3600sq ft home kinda means I have a fair bit of room to play with. So im blessed in that regard.
That being said, studio work doesnt take a whole lot of space. 10'x10' is enough for a small studio, depending on what kind of equipment you want to use and what kind of work you want to do. Of course, that's the rub. That being said, I usually shoot on location, without a studio proper.
