Default My first engagment shoot. Some advice needed.

So tomorrow night I have my first engagement shoot. We are going to be starting at 6pm, and the sun usually sets around 8:27pm so we have plenty of good light. I just thought I might start out with that since I said it was a "night" shoot. Maybe I should have said evening...

Anyway... it's my first one and I just wanted some tips from you guys out there who have done this more times. I don't have any equipment, just one camera and a kit lens.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Adrian

Plan more than a day in advance.

Do you have a flash at least? Your question is a bit vague.

I've done a few amateur engagement shoots for friends. I'm primarily a natural light photographer, and I love evening shoots. I would say not to worry about a flash if you don't have one. Do some looking around at inspiration shots, make a list of the poses you want to get (or the couple wants) and check them off as you go. And, don't work yourself--or your clients--too hard. It is summer so it will be hot, bring water, and be mindful of everyone's comfort. Have fun--and good luck!
