Post Any ideas for Senior Pictures?

I'm going to be doing some senior pictures in October or September. I have a Sony a230 does anyone know what the best setting would be to use, and any good poses or angles? I've looked for ideas online but can't seem to have any luck.lol.
Thanks

I'll move this to the "Photographing People" section. When you say seniors, do you mean senior citizens (older people) or young people round about college age?

Please keep in mind that this is a very special moment you are dealing with. Senior photos are not so much like a general portrait. It's a once in a lifetime experience and if you are asking what camera settings to use odds are you are not ready to take on this field. Right now we have class of 2012 & 13 girls messaging us on FB because they are excited for their time to come. Senior Pics in America is like a rite of passage. It's a very emotional experience. And every year we hear horror stories from girls who got their pics done somewhere and was so upset when they saw them they cried. They were embarrassed. It lowered their self-esteem. Then their parents felt so bad they booked them a session with us instead of ordering from the other photographer and we get to hear all about the bad experience they had. I hate hearing those stories.

You can ruin your reputation pretty quick jumping into senior pics too soon. If you want to make a career out of seniors you will be best off to not book anymore seniors until you can be able to do it with confidence. Jump onto modelmayhem.com and find some local wannabe models to practice on. Then next year if you're ready ease into it.
